ACRYLICS - Landscapes & Expressive Skies with Colour
Mark Warner, a Shropshire based artist and one of our tutors runs numerous of day workshops as well as a Life Drawing sessions. In the beginning of this year, he has been awarded for the People’s Art Prize at the Qube gallery, resulting in a solo show that finished on March 5, 2018. Numerous of his works are currently hanging in private collections and he has also exhibits widely in both England and Wales. Furthermore, sketching is at the heart of his work. This is integral to the development of a piece and can indeed form part of the painting itself. He draws inspiration from the landscape, although subject matter and application at times can be very different.

In his 2-day workshop 'Landscapes & Expressive Skies with Colour’ is held at Boesner Dusseldorf - one of THE great art suppliers in Germany, where you can directly buy materials on site and enjoy Mark’s demonstration of how to incorporate coloured line, texture and a sense of distance within a chosen scene. You will experiment with vibrant and expressive colour combinations which are painted onto coloured grounds. Using coloured pastel paper to paint on and incorporating elements of drawing with black conte, coloured grounds become an important part of the work. A sense of depth within the painting is very important and you will have the opportunity to experiment with acrylic paint, aspects of perspective and a flowing use of line and brushwork creating interesting landscapes with expressive skies.
