Art and Nature
Isn´t it fascinating that art and nature have so much in common? They´re both relaxing, individual and just beautiful. In fact it is so interesting for most of us, that the art critic John Grande has written a huge in-depth book about this topic. He believes that artistic expressions in nature play a very important role in changing the way we percieve our relation to the world we live in. Also in the epoch of naturalism, there were many famous artists like Vincent van Gogh and Jules Bastien-Lepage, who just went out in nature and drew their experiences which was pretty common in this time. Modern day artists often use the nature to create very unique and creative works, so don´t you think that right now is the best time to go out and create something yourself, too? If you love photography a good idea may be to take a nice colorful areal shot of the sunset combined with the beautiful landscape depending on where you live, but I can guarantee you: It really doesn´t matter where you live, there is always something special to your home. You might just need to explore for some time to find the perfect place and the perfect light atmosphere. Another great example is art made out of nature, also called landart. For example the Spiral Jetty in the Great Saltlake in Utah. It was build by Robert Smithson in 1970 and is still a great inspiration for us today and as he said „part of a multilayered work of art“. Unfortunately it will be gone in a few centuries because of climate and weather effects but till then you might still enjoy your view on your favorite landart. Smithson said „Visiting a museum is a matter of going from void to void“, but going out is way more interesting for most people because where ever you go – nature has always new inspiring motives for you to offer!
