The Luxembourg Art Prize is an annual international prize for contemporary artists. It is organised by the Pinacothèque of Luxembourg, which is a private not-for-profit exhibition space in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Existing since 2015, the prize aims to discover talented artists, amateur or professional, regardless of age and nationality. Although you have to pay an entry fee of €55 (about US$65 GBP48 CHF65 CA$84 JPY7,000), you will have the chance to win a grant of 25,000 euros (about US$30,000 GBP22,000 CHF30,000 CA$38,500 JPY3,250,000) in the end. The winner is entirely free to use this money in any way they choose.

The Prize is aimed at artists working in one or more of the following media: drawing, printing, installation, painting, performance, photography, digital art, sculpture, sound art, video, mixed media, decorative art (textiles and material, glass, wood, metal, ceramics, mosaic, paper or other techniques).

Submission criteria:

• No age limit on submissions
• Open to amateur and professional artists
• All nationalities are eligible
• Open to artists from all the countries of the world

Candidates must not send original artworks to Luxembourg. All travel costs to Luxembourg incl. accommodation in a 4-star hotel will be covered by the organisation.

For example, the Committee may be sensitive to the following points: the originality of the work, technical mastery, coherence of the work, freshness, novelty, historical continuity, the artistic, literary, historical, scientific or philosophical references in your work, the message conveyed, the poetry that emerges from the work. The Committee hopes to find works that have been produced in a unique moment of grace experienced by the artist at the time of their creation. These magical creative moments are what make a work unique and unlike any other.
