As soon as you have sketched out a cabbage head, start colouring it a little with light green pastels. It is already possible to carefully highlight light and shadow areas which match the lighter and darker leaves. In order to draw the specific network structure of the cabbage leaves, you have to do the following: Take a white chalk and draw the leaf-veins in a meshed way. In a second step, you take a darker green tone and paint the intervening spaces. If you would like to paint in a more detailed way, you can take an even darker green tone to intensify the shadow areas.
