Greece - but Different
Stay tuned for (maybe the greatest) insider tip of Greece: Pelion. Just think of a huge mountain dotted with picturesque little villages rimmed with vibrant mesmerising beaches and you have… Pelion! A little paradise that makes you feel as if you spend your time in another world. This is definitely a Greece you have not experienced yet.
As mentioned, Pelion has a lot to offer and probably everyone can come to his expense. Beach-lovers will have the opportunity to visit fantastic spots with cobalt water to refuel on “Vitamin Sea”. Nature-lovers will have the chance to be bereaved of breath when admiring the glorious landscapes. And let’s not forget about Pelions little highlights: Its villages. Some of the (considered) most beautiful ones are for instance Makrinitsa, Portaria, Tsagarada…and Milies.
Milies is one of the most picturesque and richest in tradition villages of Pelion. It lies in a height of 400 metres and has quite a few sights for such a small town. There is, for example, the church “Taxiarchis” with its (attention there, art lovers!) remarkable mural paintings and unique antique stereo-acoustics, next to other churches and the public library with thousands of, partly exceptional rare, books, manuscripts and letters. When reaching this gem, you will go through atmospheric olive groves, admire some sycamore trees and find yourself in front of some breath-taking villas and mansions that have been there for centuries and are thus splendid witnesses to the history of the village.
Interested in spending your next holiday here now? Maybe even in one of those mansions? Well – let me introduce you to “Villa Karusos” in Milies! The mansion offers 6 private rooms and can host up until 12 guests. Next to the rooms, all with a double bed, en-suite bathrooms and an own balcony, there are a shared living room and a fully equipped kitchen in which you can prepare your breakfast, lunch, dinner…or whatever you feel like! Of course, the mentioned public library is breath-taking and definitely worth a visit, but the mansion has got a lovely little library as well! Oh, and feel free to use the veranda-balcony to enjoy your food or drink or… afternoon-sketching.
If you are interested in a stay in “Villa Karusos”, just look at its offers on AirBnB or other platforms - just try Googke Search for "Villa Karusos". Or contact the owner directly via email: panoskarousos@yahoo.gr
It surely is worth a visit!
