Instead of just looking for a great hotel or a cheap flight, look for places and subjects that appeal to you, too. Blogs and travel guides are a great place to start, as well as top ten lists.

As soon as you’ve chosen possible spots, dive into details. A lot of the time, travel photography doesn’t turn out the way we want it to because we’re not prepared. It helps to ask a couple of questions before hand: Are we travelling to this location at an ideal time, photography wise? If we’re on this hill, looking down at the town, where will the sunlight be? And what equipment do I need?
