Layers of Looking!
Attention! Our tutor Ian Fennelly has published a book and if that’s not worth a blog post, I don’t know what is. You probably know Ian by now (or at least you have seen one of his works, for that I’m sure). However, in case you have actually never heard of him: Ian is an (if not the) Urban Sketcher based in England. You can dream yourself in a whole other world while watching at his work. He has drawn and painted quite a lot of places in his career, meaning he has been out and about in this world and because of that he always has a story to tell- Promise you, it won’t get boring with him. Of course, there is no Ian wherever you go, to give you tips on where to draw that line or mix that colour – so this is a promotion for his book “Layers of Looking”, a portable Ian if you will.
It “inspires readers to tell the story of their sketching adventures, the people they meet and the places they explore when they grab their art materials and head outdoors. Through Ian’s vibrant watercolour sketches and amusing anecdotes he shows how to
- Choose a subject and find the story
- Capture the personality of the subject
- Enjoy well-being through art
- Overcome sketching obstacles
- Learn creativity through observation
- Express yourself with colour
Learn how to play with colour, loosen up, have fun, take line for a walk and get inspired by Ian’s charming urban sketches.” Sold? Well, you can find some more information here and Ian’s course offer over here.
Enjoy the start of the new week!
