Painting a Rain Cloud above the Tideland
First you mark the horizon line. Then you paint the sky area with lots of water and let the excessive water drip off by holding the paper in a crooked way. Now use a brush to apply cyan blue, Indian yellow and payne’s grey on the upper area of the paper. The rain cloud is being omitted in this process. Let the paints dry for a while, then use another brush to paint the flow of the rain with water and individual brushstrokes into the already applied paint.
You can paint the sea by using the dry technique. Soak the brush with some paint and a little water and put it into a colour mixing consisting of blue and payne’s grey. Apply it in a flat way and quickly move the brush from the left to the right across the entire paper. More strongly structured paper will give you a more distinct effect than fine paper.
